The 1 System Jet Pod uses a 30mm EDF, 6amp ESC, HK 3 Ch receiver, Turnigy 180 mah 2s lipo, (or a 350mah 2s) and two 3.7g servos.
Jets are cool because they are sleek and fast. But these plans are for slow flying park jets. They are slow because of the light weight and large wing areas relative to the 50 gram thrust from the 30 mm EDF.
The F84 thunderjet has a traditional wing and tail and flights are easy. The Mig, Sabre and FW 183 with swept wing are designed for the centrally mounted jet turbine and are harder to trim out but fly well once trimmed. The Delta Dart is an interesting plane. It was designed for supersonic, not slow park flying. Initially I thought I could put a high lift airfoil on it. No way. As the plane changed speed it would either stall or dive no matter what the balance point. In one case I gave it a hard launch and it did a full loop. I took all the airfoil off and now have a perfectly flat wing. This plane flies on a cushion of air like ground effect.
The wing spans and fuselage are proportionate to the 30mm EDF. The empty airframes weigh about 25 grams by removing all paper backing from the foamboard. The glides are very good but the models are extremely balance sensitive because of the short fuselage or lack of stabilizer on the F102. If the balance is off just a small amount the model will stall or dive. Each model is set up for 3 channel control so you can trim elevator on maiden flight tests. Use very little elevator while learning.
They are all simple builds for the experienced builder and can accommodate the 1System Jet Pod or you can easily install the components in the weapons cargo bay of the F 102 model.
The plans are simple, require 1 sheet of foamboard. Instructions are included on the plan. Construction time is about 3 hours. Take your time and enjoy!

Mig 15

The Mig 15 is a beautifully sleek jet. Take your time and you will be rewarded with a very handsome RC model. The plans have been redesigned for a 0 degree wing incidence and a wing doubler to keep the wing from warping.
It really needs the elevator servo to trim in flight.

F 86 Sabre

Very similar to the Mig 15. The basic construction is similar. The wing is lower, Tail a little different.

Focke Wulf TA 183 - III

The sleekest of the FW TA 183, this version lll was lengthened and can be seen as the predecessor to the Mig 15.

F 84 Thunderjet
The F 84 Thunderjet is a good first jet for the modeler. The wing and tail will be familiar. The wing is similar to a P51's. The flight characteristics will be similar to the Warbirds.
.70 sqft, 3 oz for a 4oz/sqft wing loading The plans have been redesigned for a 0 degree wing incidence and a wing doubler to keep the wing from warping. |

F 102 Delta Dart
Convair Delta Dart F-102A
This is a straightforward build but not your first plane or even first jet. There's a lot to understand about CG/CL, control throws, thrust and flat airfoil. It is a pretty model and amazingly scale from a piece of foamboard. 16.5" span .72 sqft 2.5 oz all up weight 3.5 oz/sf wing loading |
